Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State men's basketball team fell to Tufts University, ranked ninth nationally, by a score of 74-56 in non-conference action Tuesday evening in Framingham. With the win the Jumbos move to 8-2 on the season while the Rams slip to 2-8.

The Jumbos were led offensively by Tom Palleschi (Haverhill, Mass.), Vincent Pace (Bridgewater, NJ) and KJ Garrett (Manhattan Beach, CA) all with twelve points and Ethan Feldman (New York, NY) added 11 points of his own.

Framingham State received a game-high 20 points from Manny Payton (Fitchburg, Mass.) with Tyri Hampton (Fitchburg, Mass.) adding ten for the cause.

The visitors took a 10-7 lead on a Feldman trey at the 14:05 mark of the 1st half and they would never look back. The Rams kept the game close as a Daniel Gould (Quincy, Mass.) three-pointer in the final minute would send the teams to the break with Tufts leading 32-29.

The Rams scored on the opening possession of the half to cut the Jumbos lead to one but that's as close as they'd come. Tufts responded with a 7-0 run capped by a Pace layup early in the half to stretch their lead and a 10-0 run capped by a Ben Engvall (Barrington, RI) trey to break away in the final minutes.

The Jumbos shot 50.9% from the floor and 43.8% from long range. The Rams were 46% from the field and 41.7% from beyond the arc.

The Jumbos took advantage scoring 17 points off turnovers to the host's 9.

The Rams return to action on Thursday, December 29th as they travel to the NYU Classic and face host NYU at 5:00 p.m. The Jumbos return to the hardwood on Wednesday, January 4th when they host Lesley University at 7:00 p.m.
