Connecticut College Defeats Men's Basketball in Non-Conference Action

New London, Conn. – The Framingham State University men's basketball team struggled from the floor as they were defeated 73-51 this evening in non-conference action on the road by Connecticut College.

With the loss, the Rams slip to 4-12 on the year, while Connecticut College improves to 11-5.

The Rams shot just 26% from the floor in the game connecting on 15-of-58 including connecting on just 24% from behind the arc.  Connecticut College, meanwhile, connected on 47% of their offerings (25-53) and had more success from long range connecting on 4-of-10 from behind the arc.

Senior Tim McCarthy (Wilmington, Mass.) was the lone Ram to record double figures with 14 points on 5-of13 from the floor. McCarthy also grabbed three boards, with four assists and a steal. Classmate Joe McCabe (Canton, Mass.) added nine points and three rebounds, while sophomore Tony Alexandre (Hyde Park, Mass.) chipped in with nine and five rebounds.

The Rams are idle until Saturday afternoon when the resume MASCAC action. The Rams travel to Worcester State to face the Lancers in a contest scheduled to be played at WPI at 3 p.m.
