Salem State Sails Past Men's Basketball

Salem, Mass. – The Framingham State University men's basketball team was on the road this evening for a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) match-up at Salem State University and were defeated 85-54 by the Vikings.

The Vikings improve to 10-7 on the year and even their conference mark at 2-2, while the Rams dip to 5-11 overall and are 0-5 in the MASCAC.

Freshman Tony Alexander paced the Rams with a team-high 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor to go along with seven rebounds and a steal. Sophomore Daniel Gould (Quincy, Mass.) was the only other Ram to record double figures with 11 points on three threes and a pair of free throws, while classmate Patrick Gould (Quincy, Mass.) added eight.

The Vikings were led by 13 points apiece from Hamed Akanni and Nicholas Grassa, while Jon Perez and Shaquan Murray chipped in with 11 each.

The Rams are back in action on Saturday with a non-conference game against Fisher College slated to begin at 3 p.m. in Lynn.
