Men's Basketball Falls at Bridgewater State

Bridgewater, Mass. – The Framingham State University men's basketball took to the road this evening and were defeated 58-51 by Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) at the Tinsley Center.

The Rams slip to 5-9 on the year with the loss and are still in search of their first conference victory as they fall to 0-3.  The Bears improve to 8-6 overall and are now 2-1 in the MASCAC.

Junior Joe McCabe (Canton, Mass.) led the Rams with a team-high 15 points and four rebounds.  Senior Ronnie DeBarros (New Bedford, Mass.) was the only other Rams to record double figures with 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field including a pair of threes.  Junior Tim McCarthy (Wilmington, Mass.) chipped in with nine points, while sophomore Patrick Gould (Quincy, Mass.) added eight on 2-of-2 from long range.

The Bears were led by 16 points from Barrett Murphy.  Murphy connected on 8-of-11 from the field to go along with four rebounds, a block and a steal.  Kyle Gibson was the only other Bear in double figures with 12 points on 4-of-8 from the field to go along with six rebounds, two assists and two steals.  Justin Clark chipped in with nine points and six boards.

The Rams are back in action at home on Saturday when they host MCLA at 3 p.m.
