Men's Basketball Falls at UMass Boston, 60-45

Boston, Mass. – The Framingham State University men's basketball team opened the second half of their season this evening with a 60-45 loss to the University of Massachusetts Boston on the road at the Clark Athletic Gym.

The Rams are now 5-6 on the year, while the Beacons improve to 8-3 with the victory.

The Rams were led by 13 points and eight rebounds from freshman Tony Alexandre (Hyde Park, Mass.) off the bench.  Junior Tim McCarthy (Wilmington, Mass.) chipped in eight points and four boards.  The Rams struggled from the floor in the game shooting just 32% (17-53) from the floor and 24% from behind the arc (5-21).

The Beacons were led by a double double effort of 20 points and 11 rebounds from Gregory Young.  Carl Joseph finished just shy of a double double with nine points and 11 boards.

The Rams are back in action on Thursday night when they host Westfield State University at 8 p.m. in the MASCAC opener for both schools.
