Men's Basketball Defeats Thomas 65-57

Weston, Mass. – The Framingham State University men's basketball team received 14 points from junior Tim McCarthy (Wilmington, Mass.) as the Rams defeated Thomas College 65-57 in the consolation game of the Moe's Queso Classic sponsored by Moe's Southwestern Grill and hosted by Regis College this afternoon.

McCarthy earned All-Tournament honors as he paced the Rams (3-1) with 14 points of 5-of-13 from the field including 3-of-6 from behind the arc.  Freshman Tony Alexandre (Hyde Park, Mass.) recorded his first double double of the season as he poured in 12 points off the bench and grabbed 10 boards including six on the offensive glass.  Junior Jacek Louisville (Worcester, Mass.) also recorded double figures for the Rams with 11 points.

The Rams out rebounded Thomas 42-26 in the game and held a 14-2 edge in second chance points.  Framingham State is back in action on Tuesday evening when they travel to Trinity College for a 6 p.m. contest.
