Men's Basketball Suffers First Defeat at the hands of Coast Guard

Weston, Mass. – The Framingham State University men's basketball tea m suffered their first defeat of the season this even 56-33 at the hand of the United States Coast Guard Academy in the first round of the Moe's Queso Classic sponsored by Moe's Southwestern Grill hosted by Regis College.

After the contest, both squads are now 2-1 on the young season.

The Rams struggled from the floor all night shooting just 19% from the field and just 1 of 25 from behind the arc. 

Tony Alexandre and Joe McCabe led all Ram scorers with six points off the bench.  Alexandre connected one on 2-of-4 form the field to go along with four rebounds, while McCabe connected on 4-of-4 from the charity stripe.  Sophomores Tim Mangano and Charles Collins added five points apiece.

The Bears were led by 16 points from Eli Sponseller and 15 from Kevin Alvarez.

The Rams are back in action tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the consolation game of the tournament against Thomas College.
