Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University men's basketball team held off a second half comeback by Colby-Sawyer College to record a 68-61 victory this evening in non-conference action at the Athletic Recreation Center.

The Rams improve to 3-0 on the young season, while the Chargers are now 0-1.

Junior Jamie Henderson (Cedar Hill, TX) led the Rams with a career and game-high 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field to go along with nine boards and two blocks.  Freshman Daniel Gould (Quincy, Mass.) was the only other Ram to record double figures with 12 points on 3-of-7 from behind the arc.

The Chargers placed four players in double figures led by 12 points apiece from sophomore Wol Majong (Manchester, NH) and junior Zach Bean (Scarborough, ME).  Junior forward Mike Dias (Carver, Mass.) picked up a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards, while senior Stephen Thorpe (Chicago, Ill.) chipped in with 10.

The Rams started the game with a 15-0 run highlighted by a pair threes from sophomore guard Joe McCabe (Canton, Mass.).  The Chargers first bucket was a lay-up from Majong with 13:29 left in the first.  Colby-Sawyer cut the deficit to eight, but the Rams extended the lead back to 11 on a lay-in from senior Elijah Chisholm (East Boston, Mass.) just before the break.

Colby-Sawyer cut the Rams lead down four on a Bean jumper with 13:09 remaining in the game, but the Rams pushed the lead back to 11 with 8:22 remaining after a 10-3 run featuring seven points from Henderson.  The Chargers had one last push in them and cut the lead back to six with 2:40 left on the clock, but Framingham was able to hold on for the victory.
