Men's Basketball Defeats Wentworth 69-57 at Emerson Tip-Off Tournament

Boston, Mass. – Junior Jamie Henderson (Cedar Hill, TX) grabbed Most Valuable Player honors at the 2013 Emerson College Tip-Off Tournament as the Framingham State University men's basketball team defeated Wentworth 69-57 this evening to win the tournament.

Henderson followed up his stellar performance in yesterday's game against host Emerson with 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor to go along with eight boards including three on the offensive glass.  For the tournament Henderson averaged 13.5 points and 6.5 boards.

Sophomore guard Tim McCarthy (Wilmington, Mass.) and freshman guard Dan Gould (Quincy, Mass.) earned all-tournament honors for the Rams (2-0).  McCarthy picked up a double double against Wentworth with 10 points and 10 assists, while Gould dropped a career high 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting from behind the arc.

Tied 33-33 at the half, the Rams shot 54% from the field and 63% from long range in the second half while the Leopards were cold shooting just 37% from the floor and only 20% from long range.

The Rams are back in action on Tuesday evening with the home opener when they entertain Colby-Sawyer at 6 p.m.
