Figueroa Tabbed for All-MASCAC Second Team Honors

Buzzards Bay, Mass. – Senior guard Tyrone Figueroa (Revere, Mass.) has been named to the 2012-13 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Basketball All-Conference Second Team.   

Figueroa earns back-to-back second team honors as he led the Rams averaging 15.4 points, five rebounds, 1.7 steals and 2.9 assists per game this season.  Figueroa, a dual sport athlete for the Rams who also played wide receiver on the football squad, ranks fourth in the MASCAC in scoring as he shot 43% from the floor and a MASCAC-best 41% from long range for the season.

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's oldest Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom.  MASCAC member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University.  Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sport of men's ice hockey and football, while Western Connecticut State University will join the conference as an affiliate member in football beginning in 2013-14.
