New London, NH  Framingham State University freshman Saleek Marshall (Avon, Mass.) connected on a three-pointer as the final buzzer sounded to lift the Rams to a 56-53 win at Colby-Sawyer in non-conference men's basketball action on Monday evening.

Framingham improves to 4-2 on the season, while Colby-Sawyer dips to 1-5.

The last minute of the game produced excitement for both teams as there were three lead changes and one tie.

The Chargers were on top 50-49 when FSU senior Tyrone Figueroa (Revere, Mass.) made a layup to put the visitors ahead by one. Colby-Sawyer responded the next trip down the floor with a go-ahead three-pointer from sophomore Zach Bean (Scarborough, Maine).

With less than 30 seconds to play, junior Yemi Ajao (Randolph, Mass.) made a lay-up and was fouled. He missed the free throw for the Rams to keep the game knotted at 53-53.

Colby-Sawyer tried to hold for the last shot of regulation, but turned the ball over as time was running out. Framingham State senior Rico DePaolis (Watertown, Mass.) quickly moved the ball up the floor and found Marshall alone for the game-winning three-pointer.

Marshall was the only Ram to reach double-figures with 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting. Ajao nearly recorded a double-double with nine points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Figueroa finished with nine points, six rebounds and a game-best five assists.

Colby-Sawyer was led by sophomore Mike Dias (Carver, Mass.) who had 12 points and nine rebounds before fouling out. Bean added 11 points and five rebounds.

Framingham shot 35.8% from the floor, while Colby-Sawyer shot 27.9%.

Each team made eight baskets in the first half as both offenses struggled. The Chargers made one more three-pointer than the Rams, but the visitors were 10-of-12 from the free throw line and held a 27-26 lead at the break. Both teams shot below 30% from the floor.

Colby-Sawyer resumes North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play on Friday with a 7:30 p.m. tip at Thomas, while the Rams play at Fisher tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
