Men's Basketball Falls to Bridgewater State, 89-79

Framingham, MA - Behind 31 points and 13 rebounds from senior forward Roland Millien (Stoughton, MA), the Bridgewater State College men's basketball team defeated the Framingham State Rams 89-79 tonight in Framingham.  With the win, the Bears move to 1-1 in Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action and 7-5 overall, while the Rams are now 9-6 overall and are also 1-1 in the MASCAC.

The Bears used a 21-10 run over the first ten minutes of the second half to open up a double digit lead over the Rams that they would not relinquish.  The Bears held the advantage over the Rams for the game as they connected on 21 of 28 from the charity stripe while the Rams only attempted 12 free throws.  Millien led the Bears as he sank 13 of 15 from the free throw line.

Bears sophomore forward Nicholas Motta (Fairhaven, MA) contributed 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor to go along with nine boards, and his classmate guard Judah Jackson (Everett, MA) added 14 points and seven rebounds.

The Rams were led by junior forward Josue Almodovar (Holyoke, MA) who picked up a double double with 24 points and 11 rebounds, while Roderick Jackson (Cambridge, MA) and Darius Yarrell (Brockton, MA) added 16 and 13 points respectively.

The Rams return to action on Saturday as they travel to Worcester State at 6 p.m., while the Bears return to action on Thursday at UMass Boston at 7:30 p.m.
