Field Hockey Earns Third Seed in 2023 MASCAC Tournament

Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University field hockey team has earned the third seed in this week's Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Field Hockey Tournament.  As the third seed the Rams will host sixth seed Bridgewater State in one quarterfinal on Wednesday, November 1st at Maple Street Field at 7 p.m.

The field hockey team completed the regular season 9-9 overall and 5-5 in MASCAC action. The Bears finished the regular season 4-11-4 overall and 1-9 in league action.  The winner of the Framingham/Bridgewater quarterfinal will advance the semifinals on Friday and will face second seed Westfield State.

Fourth seed Salem State hosts fifth seed Fitchburg State on Wednesday in the other quarterfinal with the winner advancing to face top seed Worcester State on Friday. The tournament concludes on Sunday with the winners of the two semifinals meeting at the highest remaining seed. The winner of the finals receives the MASCAC's automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship.
