Guenard & Lawson Headline LEC Weekly Awards

Framingham, Mass.-Framingham State junior forward Corlene Guenard has been named Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week and sophomore back Cori Lawson has been named LEC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 9th.  

Guenard was named the LEC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring four goals and setting up two others in a 2-0 week for the Rams in conference play. She potted the game-winning goal and notched two assists in a 5-1 win over Bridgewater State before registering a hat trick in an 8-0 rout of UMass Dartmouth. Guenard ranks first in the LEC in assists (10), and is fourth in goals (12) and total points (34). 

Lawson was named the LEC Defensive Player of the Week after leading a defensive unit that allowed just one goal over two games for the Rams last week. Lawson notched a pair of defensive saves in the win over UMass Dartmouth, with the first coming 4:53 into the match and the second coming in the 21st-minute. The Bears were limited to just six total shots (one on-goal), while the Corsairs were limited to eight shots (six on-goal).
