Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State field hockey team was defeated by Nichols College in overtime by a score of 4-3 in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon in Framingham. With the win the Bison are now 2-14 while the Rams also move to 2-14.

The Bisons opened up scoring in the first minute when Lauren Lemay (Tyngsboro, Mass.) scored with an assist coming from Erin Kelley (Dighton, Mass.)

The Rams answered with two quick scores in the 18th minute. First, Bailey Donelly (Framingham, Mass.) sent her own rebound past the Nichols goalie. Then just 41 seconds later Sydney Buono (Ashburnham, Mass.) gathered a loose ball in front of the cage and sent it home.

The Bisons tied the game in the 50th minute when Leunda Marsh (Palmer, Mass.) sent a strike from the top right of the arc after corralling a loose ball. They then took the lead just under two minutes later when a corner setup a long strike which was deflected by the Rams goalie and sent in by Brianna Kilborn (North Brookfiled, Mass.)

The Rams forced overtime with just 90 seconds remaining in regulation when Jillian Kokernak (Worcester, Mass.) scored after a one-time pass by Heather Burdett (Phillipston, Mass.)

The visitors scored the game-winner just under the five-minute mark of the extra frame when a penalty corner set up a one-time pass from Mackenzie McDonald (Pembroke, Mass.) to be sent in by Erin Kelley (Dighton, Mass.)

Brooke Misback (Guilford, Conn.) made five saves in net for the Bisons. Haley Duggan (Framingham, Mass.) made eight saves for the Rams.
