Corsairs Push Past Field Hockey; 4-0

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State field hockey team was defeated by a score of 4-0 by the UMass. Dartmouth Corsairs in a Little East Conference match Wednesday afternoon in Framingham.

With the win the Corsairs improve to 3-7 and 2-4 in the league. The Rams drop to 2-7 and 1-5 in Little East play.

UMD opened up scoring just after the ten-minute mark when Ciara Anderson (Medway, Mass.) sent in a long strike from Erin Kish (Littleton, Mass.). The visitors added to their lead in the 26th minute when Mary Brown (Leicester, Mass.) converted with Anderson assisting to take a 2-0 lead into the break.

The Corsairs added to their advantage in the second half when Brown scored an unassisted goal after carrying a pass for nearly 20 yards. In the 51st minute UMD tallied their final goal to reach the 4-0 margin when Katelin Morrissey (Taunton, Mass.) scored with Anderson earning another assist.

Allison Burke (Dighton, Mass.) made seven saves in the win for the Corsiars. Haley Duggan (Framingham, Mass.) made eight stops in net for the Rams.

The Rams return to action on Saturday, October 1st as when they travel to Fitchburg State for a 5pm game. The Corsairs host Westfield State on the same day at 2pm.
