Keene, NH – The Framingham State University field hockey team closed the 2015 season with an 11-3 loss to co-conference leader Keene State College in Little East College action on the road this afternoon.
With the win, Keene State improves to 13-7 on the season and 9-2 in the Little East which places them in a three way tie with Plymouth State and UMass Dartmouth atop the LEC standings. The loss drops the Rams to 4-14 overall and 2-9 in the conference.
Keene State tallied two goals both by Sami Smith in the game's opening 10 minutes to take control. The Owls would tack on three more to take a 5-0 lead at the half.
Smith and Haylie Dolan extended the lead in the opening minutes of the second half, but freshman Meaghann Ackerman (Littleton, Mass.) got the Rams on the board with an unassisted marker in the 53rd minute.
The Owls would add three more before freshman Sydney Buono (Ashburnham, Mass.) and senior Cady Kelly (Canton, Mass.) added unassisted goals for the Rams in the final 10 minutes to reach the final score.
