Field Hockey Shutout by UMass Dartmouth

Dartmouth, Mass – The Framingham State University field hockey team surrendered four second half goals as they were defeated 6-0 by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in Little East Conference (LEC) action this evening at Cressy Field.

With the victory, the Corsairs improve to 9-3 on the year and better their record to 5-1 in the conference, while the Rams fall to 2-8 overall and 1-5 in the Little East with the set back.

Senior Jill Levrault (Somerset, Mass.) tallied a pair of goals, the first two of the contest, for the Corsairs.  Classmate Ali Ladue (Bridgewater, Mass.) added three points in the game on a goal and two assists.

The Corsairs outshot the Rams 17-6 in the contest and held a 6-2 edge in penalty corners.  Senior Rosemary Talbot (Whitinsville, Mass.) surrendered three goals in the cage for the Rams and took the loss, while junior Alexandra Ricco (Agawam, Mass.) made three saves and allowed three goals.

The Rams are back in action on Saturday when they host Fitchburg State in a Little East match up beginning at 11 a.m.
