Salem, Mass. – The Framingham State University field hockey team received three assists from senior Rhea Urbaniak (Chelmsford, Mass.) as the Rams closed the 2014 season with a 3-1 road victory over the Salem State University Vikings in Little East Conference (LEC) action this afternoon.

With the win, the Rams end the season 8-10 overall and 3-8 in the Little East, while the Vikings slip to 2-15 overall and 1-10 in the conference.

Salem State (2-15) controlled much of the possession in the first half, but could not muster any scoring chances as both teams were limited by a steady rain.  With just six shots between both teams, the game entered the half tied 0-0.

Salem State got on the board in the 39th minute when Natalie Bourne (Tewksbury, Mass.) put the ball past the goaltender off an assist from Angela Montano (Saugus, Mass.).

The Rams answered with back-to-back goals in the 60th and 61st minutes.  Samantha Pajer (Leicester, Mass.) struck first off an Urbaniak assist and junior Cady Kelly (Canton, Mass.) followed converting another Urbaniak helper as the Rams took the lead for good.

Freshman Mallory Fredericks (Templeton, Mass.) added an insurance goal in the 66th minute off Urbaniak's final assist of her collegiate career.

Carolyn Woodin (Arlington, Mass.) made one save for the Vikings, while Rosemary Talbot (Whitinsville, Mass.) made two saves en route to the victory.
