Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University field hockey team tallied five first half goals including a pair from sophomore Cady Kelly (Canton, Mass.) en route to a 10-0 win over Daniel Webster College this afternoon in non-conference action at Maple Street Field.

With the victory the Rams improve to 4-1 on the year, while the Eagles slip to 0-3.

Kelly finished the game with her second hat trick of the season, while senior Kaitlyn Ranieri tallied a pair of goal with two helpers in the game.

Ranieri got the Rams on the board first in the sixth minute of action when the Rams were awarded a penalty stroke after an Eagle defender played a ball off her foot near the goal line.  Ranieri converted the stroke with a well-placed shot in the lower left corner for the 1-0 lead.

Kelly would add a pair of unassisted markers in the 11th ad 14th minutes to push the lead to 3-0.  Ranieri would then connect with senior Cassandra Koegel (Groveland, Mass.) for the Rams final two goals in the half in the 18th and 23rd minutes.

Senior Brittany Goben (New Bedford, Mass.) started the scoring in the second half for the Rams with a penalty stroke in the 40th minute.  Ranieri followed with her second of the game and sophomore Alina Willing (Natick, Mass.) added a pair before Kelly finished the scoring with her third of the game in the final three minutes.

The Eagles had their best scoring opportunity in the 41st minute when sophomore Taylor St. Jean (Manchester, N.H.) carried in the circle and sent a shot on the cage that Framingham State freshman goalie Sarah Palace (Auburn, Mass.) kicked away.

Palace and sophomore Rosemary Balanca-Talobot combined for the shutout making one save apiece, while Teresa Moscati (Buffalo, NY) made 37 saves for the visitors.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Little East Conference foe Worcester State at 11 a.m., while the Eagles host Thomas on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
