Keene, N.H. – The Framingham State Univeristy field hockey team closed the regular season on the road this afternoon at Keene State College field and were defeated 4-0 in Little East Conference (LEC) action at Owl Athletic Complex on Saturday.
Already locked into third in the LEC standings, the Owls (13-7, 9-2 LEC) will host sixth seed Salem State in a LEC quarterfinal game on Tuesday (6 p.m.).
Framingham State concludes its season with a 10-8 (3-8 LEC) record.
The Owls scored two goals in each half. Junior Katlyn Simula (Bridgewater, N.H.) and sophomore Melissa Habelow (Belmont, Mass.) found the back on the net on penalty corner goals to give KSC a 2-0 halftime lead.
Freshmen Lyndsie Rabenius (North Hampton, N.H.) and Haylie Dolan (West Brookfield, Mass.) scored second half goals for the Owls.
Keene State had a wide advantage in shots (29-6) and penalty corner opportunities (12-5) in the game.
Sophomore Caitlin Davino-Draper (Hanover, Mass.) and freshman Chloe Audesse (Goffstown, N.H.) shared the shutout in goal for KSC. Davino-Draper did not record a save in the first half and Audesse stopped two shots in the second half.
Senior Sarah Ryan (Uxbridge, Mass.) finished the game with 13 saves for the Rams.
