Leicester, Mass. - Junior Kaitlyn Ranieri (Bellingham, Mass.) scored two goals to lead Framingham State to a 2-0 win over host Becker College in non-conference field hockey action on Thursday at Alumni Field.

The Rams of Framingham State are now 7-4 on the year, while the Hawks of Becker drop to 0-10 on the season.

Just 7:47 into the game, senior Calista Tetreault (New Bedford, Mass.) took the ball off a corner and found Ranieri open for a goal. The remainder of the opening half was hotly contested, with neither team able to find the back of the net.

Ranieri scored again ten minutes into the second half, with an assist to sophomore Rhea Urbaniak (Chelmsford, Mass.) off a deflected save. It was Ranieri's team-leading seventh tally of the season.

Becker had a chance to get on the board with eleven minutes remaining when sophomore Katherine DiMascio (Braintree, Mass.) had a good look off a corner. But the shot was saved by the Framingham State goalkeeper, and the hosts would end the game scoreless.

Freshman goalkeeper Gabrielle Gallo (Northport, N.Y.) tallied 10 saves for the Hawks, while her counterpart, senior Sarah Ryan (Uxbridge, Mass.) finished with two saves for the Rams and picked up her fifth shutout of the season.

Becker will look to bounce back when they travel to Regis on Saturday to face the Pride in a 4 p.m. NECC contest. Framingham State heads to Westfield State on Saturday for a 12 p.m. LEC game.
