Box Score

Framingham, Mass.  — The Framingham State University field hockey team opened the 2010 season at home today with a 2-0 shutout loss to the St. Joseph's College (ME) Monks.  The Rams are now 0-1 on young season, while the Monks are 1-0.

The Monks controlled the pace of the game as they maintained possession in the Rams end of the field for most of the afternoon.  They outshot the host Rams 17-6 in the contest including 10-1 in the second half.  Framingham State senior goalie Allesha Kenyon (Westford, Mass.) made 13 saves in the game to keep the Rams close, but the Rams could not generate much offense.
