Field Hockey Runs Win Streak to Five With 8-0 Win at Gordon

Wenham, Mass. - The Framingham State College field hockey team extended their current win streak to five games with an 8-0 shutout win over Gordon College on the road this afternoon in Wenham.  With the win, the Rams improve to 5-1 on the season, while the Fighting Scotts are still in search of their first victory at 0-7.

Senior forward Kali Barrett (North Attleboro, Mass.) scored the game winner for the Rams in the 9th minute as she took a pass from sophomore midfielder Kristin Gentili (Franklin, Mass.) and connected for seventh goal of the season.  Just four minutes later the Rams extended their lead to 2-0 as sophomore midfielder Kayleigh Force (Leominster, Mass.) scored an unassisted tally.

The Rams would add two more goals before the half to open up a comfortable 4-0 lead at the break.  Freshman Cali Tetreault (New Beford, Mass.) scored both goals with Barrett assisting on the second.

Junior goalkeeper Allesha Kenyon (Westford, Mass.) and senior Steph Bourgeois (Waltham, Mass.) combined for the shutout in net for the Rams with Kenyon making three saves in 43 minutes of work and Bourgeois making two.

The Rams would add four more goals in the second half with junior forward Kristen Sacco (Mendon, Mass.) scoring twice and senior Katie Wotherspoon and sophomore Katie Barry (Fairhaven, Mass.) each adding single goals.

Barrett, Force and Wotherspoon each finished the game with a goal and an assist, while freshman Erica Fisher (Putnam Valley, NY) added a single assist.

The Rams return to action on Saturday as they travel to Worcester State for an 11 a.m. game.
