Field Hockey Downs Lasell on Senior Day

Framingham, MA - The Framingham State College field hockey team snapped a two game losing streak at home today on Maple Street Field with a 4-0 non-conference win over the Lasell College Lasers.  With the win the Rams improve to 10-7 on the season and tied the record for most wins in a season which was set in 2004, while the Lasers finish their season at 7-11.

Junior midfielder Katie Wotherspoon (Stafford, CT) scored the game winner 6:49 into the game as she corralled a rebound in front of the net and knocked it home for her first goal of the season.

The Rams junior forward Kali Barrett (N. Attleboro, MA) scored her team high 14th and 15th goals today in the 20th and 28th minutes to put the Rams ahead 3-0.  Senior forward Cailyn Morgan (Gardner, MA) assisted on both of Barrett's tallies and set a new single season assist record for the Rams.  She now has 10 assists on the year surpassing the old mark of eight which she had tied earlier this season.

Freshman Kayleigh Force (Leominster, MA) added the Rams 4th goal in the 52nd minute off an assist from senior defender Lauren Macuga (Holliston, MA).

Sophomore Allesha Kenyon (Westford, MA) made six saves and picked up her 3rd shutout win of the season, while freshman Christine Thornton (Canton, MA) made 12 stops for the Lasers in a losing effort.

The Rams close out the regular season on Saturday at Salem State at 12 p.m.
