Field Hockey Falls in Overtime to Husson

Framingham, MA - Sophomore forward Courtney Allen (Gardiner, ME) scored the game winner 2:28 into overtime to lift the visiting Eagles of Husson University to a 4-3 win over the Framingham State Rams at Maple Street Field this afternoon.  With the win, the Eagles improve to 5-7 on the season while the Rams move to 8-5.

The Rams took a 1-0 lead just twenty-two seconds into the game as junior forward Kali Barrett (N. Attleboro, MA) dribbled the ball down the field and took an off balance shot that found the back of the net for her team high 13th goal of the season.  The Rams lead was short lived as Husson knotted the game at 1-1 less than two minutes later as junior forward Elisha Dorso (Farmingdale, ME) scored off an assist from Jillian Morin (Manchester, ME).

Framingham forward Kristen Sacco (Mendon, MA) would put the Rams back in the lead at 7:46 as she scored her 12th goal of the season. Senior forward Cailyn Morgan (Gardner, MA) picked up her 8th assist of the season on Sacco's tally and tied the Framingham State single season assist mark.

Husson would respond with two goals of their own less than a minute apart to take their first lead of the game at 3-2.  Senior Krystal Doughty (Lisbon Falls, ME) fired a rocket into the back of the net off a penalty corner at 15:57 and Dorso added her second of the day at 16:24.

The Rams knotted the game at 3-3 in the 38th minute as Jade Franzen (Mansfield, MA) took a pass off a penalty corner and connected for her 3rd goal of the season.

Sophomore Allesha Kenyon (Westford, MA) replaced the Rams starter in net and made 17 saves on the day to force the game to overtime.  Husson goalie Caroline Bochtler (Turner, MA) made nine saves for the Eagles and picked up the win as Allen and Dorso connected for the game winner just two minutes into overtime.

The Rams return to action on Wednesday as they host Bridgewater State at 3:30 p.m., while the Eagles host Lasell on Saturday.
