Field Hockey Shutsout Gordon

Framingham, MA - Junior forward Kali Barrett (N. Attleboro, MA) scored two unassisted goals to lift the host Framingham State Rams to a 2-0 non-conference win over visiting Gordon College at Maple Street Field this afternoon.  With the win, the Rams improve to 4-1 on the season, while the Fighting Scots move to 6-3.

Both teams had quality scoring opportunities early in the game but neither team could capitalize until Barrett maneuvered thru the Fighting Scots defense and beat the goalie with a hard shot.  The goal gave the Rams a 1-0 lead with just over 13 minutes remaining in the half.  Barrett would extend the Rams lead in the 28th minute as she scored her fifth goal of the season to put the Rams up 2-0.

Sophomore Allesha Kenyon (Westford, MA) made seven saves on the day and picked up the shutout win, while senior Chyanne Wilson (Pearl River, NY) and freshman Alicia L'Heureux (Dudley, MA) split time in net for the Fighting Scots and made four and one save respectively.  Gordon College held a 9-1 advantage on penalty corners for the game, but they were unable to capitalize on any of the opportunities.

The Rams return to action on Saturday as they play host to Worcester State at 11:00, while Gordon travels to Babson on Thursday at 7:00.
