Field Hockey Remains Unbeated with 3-1 Win over Salve Regina

Framingham, MA - The Framingham State College field hockey team won their second straight game at home today 3-1 over Salve Regina.  The Rams improve to 2-0 on the season, while Salve Regina falls to 0-3.

Sophomore forward Kristen Sacco (Mendon, MA) once again paced the Rams offense.  Sacco put the Rams ahead 1-0 in the 16th minute of play as she took a cross from freshman midfielder Ashley Blinn (Seekonk, MA) and found the back of the net for her third goal of the season.  Sacco would extend the Rams lead to 2-0 just five minutes later as she corralled a lose ball in the circle and scored her second goal of the day.

Late in the first half Salve Regina would cut the Rams lead in half as sophomore Lindsay Burt (Hopedale, MA) sent a ball into the circle that junior forward Toni Pucillo (N. Easton, MA) deflected into the net for the Seahawks only goal.  Junior midfielder Jade Franzen (Mansfield, MA) would add an insurance goal for the Rams in the 57th minute extend the Rams lead to 3-1.

Junior Devin Eppley (Darrien, CT) made 12 saves in net for the Seahawks, while sophomore Allesha Kenyon (Westford, MA) made five en route to the win for the Rams.

The Rams return to action on Saturday as they begin conference play at home against Southern Maine at 2:30, while the Seahawks begin their conference play at home against Western New England at 1:00.
