Rushins, Smiley, Rivers & Quinn Earn MASCAC Football Weekly Honors

Framingham, Mass. – Junior fullback Rufus Rushins (Lynn, Mass.), junior defensive lineman Joshua Smiley (Springfield, Mass.), senior defensive back Rashaun Rivers (Westfield, Mass.) and freshman linebacker Ryan Quinn (Billerica, Mass.) have been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Offensive Player, Defensive Player, Special Teams Player and Rookie of the Week for the week ending November 4th.          

Rushins earns his first offensive player of the week honor after rushing for four touchdowns in the Rams victory over previously unbeaten Western Connecticut.  Rushins rushed for 50 yards on 12 carries and scored all his touchdowns in the first half on runs of two, one, three and two yards.  He also recorded three tackles in the game.

Smiley earns his first defensive player of the week nod after finishing with seven tackles, including six solo stops.  Smiley recorded 3.5 tackles for a loss including a pair of sacks for a loss of 16 yards and also added a pair of forced fumbles.

Rivers earns his first special team player of the week honor after blocking a punt that was returned for a touchdown and blocking an extra point in the Rams win.  He also recovered a fumble in the game.

Quinn earns his first rookie of the week honor after recording three tackles, a fumble recovery that led to a touchdown and returned an interception for a 22 yard touchdown in the Rams victory.
