Beahn Receives Week One NEFW Division II/III Gold Helmet Award

Cambridge, Mass. – Junior receiver Stephen Beahn (Spencer, Mass.) has been awarded the New England Football Writer's Gold Helmet Award, sponsored by the Jack Grinold Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation, for week one of the 2016 college football season.  Beahn is the Division II/III Gold Helmet Award winner, while Bryant Shirreffs of Connecticut is the Division I recipient.

Beahn was recognized earlier this week as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Offensive Player of the Week and was selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week after his stellar performance in the Rams opening weekend 32-21 victory over Endicott College.

Beahn established a new school record with 248 yards receiving on six catches in the victory.  He surpassed the old mark of 219 receiving yards which was set in 1992.  Beahn averaged 41.3 yards per reception and scored on catches of 87, 81 and 36 yards, while also rushing for 26 yards on four carries.

The Rams are back in action this Saturday when they travel to Cortland State for a 12 p.m. showdown.
