Former Ram Kevin Donahue Signs with The Winterhur Warriors

Framingham, Mass.- Former Framingham State safety Kevin Donahue (Norfolk, Mass.) has been signed to play professional football for the Winterhur Warriors American Football Club in Switzerland.

The Winterthur Warriors American Football Club was founded in 1987and play in National League A, which is the top league in Switzerland.

Most players for the Warriors pay an annual membership fee of around USD $800 to finance the organization, travel costs, licenses etc. The team has 3 paid staff members: head coach and the 2 American players, Kevin being one of them. The rest of the team members play American Football as a hobby practicing 2-4 times a week besides their normal lives as students, workers, policemen, soldiers, pilots, bankers.

In 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 the Warriors reached the league championship game. In 2006 they won the Swiss championship and on 2007, they reached the semifinals in the EFAF (European league).

In 2013 and 2015 the Warriors reached the semifinals. This year, they have a clear goal to reach the final again. The team feels it is much better prepared than in the years before as they have hired Evan Harrington as an official head coach bringing his experience from his college, NFL and CFL.
