Framingham, Mass. – Senior quarterback Matt Silva (Dracut, Mass.), senior center Nick Stanfield (Everett, Mass.) and senior safety Matt Mangano (Winchester, ME) have been named to the 2015 New England Football Writers (NEFW) Division II/III All-New England Team as announced by the organization this morning.

A total of 28 players representing 18 different teams have earned All-New England honors.  The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Champion Framingham State University football team and the University of New Haven, runners-up in the Northeast-10 Conference, lead the way with three selections apiece.  The Northeast-10 saw a total of nine players recognized, while the MASCAC followed behind with six.

Mangano earns his first All-New England honors after previously being named the MASCAC's Defensive Player of the Year and a first team all-conference selection.  Mangano recorded 53 tackles, including 37 solo and three for a loss, on the year.  Mangano tallied two interceptions that he returned for 32 yards, five pass breakups and a blocked kick during his final season

Silva continues to accrue honors after a record breaking senior season.  He was tabbed as the MASCAC's Offensive Player of the Year and a first team all-conference selection and ranked among the nation's and conference's leaders in most passing categories throughout the year.  Silva completed 264-of-411 passes for 3,168 yards with a school record 41 touchdowns with just seven interceptions.  Silva, who currently holds 12 FSU passing records, established new school records for touchdowns in a game (6), touchdowns in a season (41), yards passing in a game (510) and season (3,168) during his senior campaign. Silva received a pair of New England Football Writer's Gold Helmet Awards and he was selected as the recipient of the 2015 Joseph P. Zabilski Award which is presented annually by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston to the top offensive and defensive player in Division II and III.

Stanfield earns his second straight NEFW All-New England selection after repeating as the MASCAC's Offensive Lineman of the Year.  Stanfield is a three time All-MASCAC first team selection and was tabbed as the NEFC's Offensive Rookie of the Year after his freshman season in 2012.  Stanfield was selected All-Region by D3football.com after his junior year.  In 2015 the Rams offense averaged 435 yards and 38 points per game while allowing just 15 sacks on the year.

The All-New England Team will be honored New England Football Writers at their annual Captains and Awards Banquet on December 10th at the Montvale Plaza in Stoneham.
