Worcester, Mass. – The Framingham State University football team completed their third straight conference undefeated season with a 55-14 victory over Worcester State University this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Coughlin Field.

The Rams conclude the regular season 9-1 overall with their lone loss coming against Cortland in week two of the season and a perfect 8-0 in the MASCAC for the third straight year.  The Rams earned the MASCAC's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Tournament with pairings and seedings announced tomorrow, November 15th, on NCAA.com at 6 p.m.

The Lancers see their season come to an end at 4-6 overall and 4-4 in the MASCAC.

The Rams led 28-0 after scoring 14 points apiece in the first and second quarters to take control of the game.  Just under three minutes into the game, senior quarterback Matt Silva (Dracut, Mass.) ran in from one yard out for the game's first score and then connected on a four yard scoring strike with senior Marcus Grant (Carver, Mass.) in the closing minutes of the first for a 14-0 lead.

The Lancers got on the board in the opening minutes of the second half on a 19 yard touchdown pass from Tyler Barrie to Noah Brum, but Grant and Silva connected on their second of the day, this one for 27 yards, to push the lead back to 28 with just over six remaining in the third.  The two teams traded touchdowns in the final minutes of the quarter with Kemani Jones scoring on an 11 yard run for the Lancers and freshman Napoleon Miller (Boston, Mass.) hauling in a 15 yard pass from Silva.

The Rams would tack on two more scores in the fourth to reach the final margin.  Grant would catch his third TD pass from Silva from 25 yards out with 12:27 on the clock, and sophomore quarterback Zak Walker (Ayer, Mass.) scored on a 13 yard run with just over eight minutes remaining.

The Rams accumulated 447 yards of offense in the game to just 276 for the Lancers including a 257 to 64 advantage in rushing yards.

Silva finished the day 20-of-30 for 175 yards with four touchdowns and an interception, while Walker completed 2-of-2 for 22 yards and rushed for a score.  Grant led the receivers with eight catches for 102 yards and three touchdowns, while Miller hauled in nine catches for 74 yards and a score.  Green led the ground attack with 96 yards on 12 carries with a pair of scores, while junior Aaron Owens (Springfield, Mass.) picked up 63 yards on eight attempts.
