Silva, Donahue and Jacobson Earn MASCAC Football Weekly Honors

Framingham, Mass. – Junior quarterback Matt Silva (Dracut, Mass.), senior safety Kevin Donahue (Norfolk, Mass.) and freshman linebacker Svenn Jacobson have earned Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) football weekly honors for the week for the week ending November 22nd.     

Silva was named the MASCAC Offensive Player of the Week after finishing with five touchdowns in the Rams 42-36 overtime victory over RPI in the ECAC North Atlantic Bowl.  Silva scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime on a one yard run and threw for four others including the 31 yard game tying score with three minutes remaining in regulation to force overtime.  Silva completed 17-of-34 for 273 yards in the game.

Donahue was tabbed as the MASCAC Defensive Player of the Week after earning Most Outstanding Player honors for the North Atlantic Bowl.  Donahue recorded 13 tackles, including 11 solo stops, with two for a loss.  Donahue recorded a forced fumble and preserved the victory in overtime by making the tackle on the final play of the game – a 4th and goal from the eight yard line.

Jacobson garners his third Rookie of the Week honors this season aster tallying eight tackles including five solo stops.
