Buzzards Bay, Mass. - Quarterback Matt Silva (Dracut, Mass.) threw for 176 yards and three touchdowns as Framingham State University held Massachusetts Maritime to 78 yards of total offense in notching a 45-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC)  football victory Saturday afternoon at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Silva connected on a two-yard scoring strike to junior Tevin Jones (Springfield, Mass.) just 3:25 into the contest for the visiting Rams (7-1, 6-0 MASCAC), and he then found junior Travis Hayes (Framingham, Mass.) from 13 yards out midway through the opening stanza to extend Framingham State's advantage to 14-0.

Sophomore Jalen Green (Brockton, Mass.) scored his first of two touchdowns on the day from eight yards out with 4:41 to play in the first quarter, and fellow sophomore Aaron Owens (Springfield, Mass.) found the end zone twice in less than three minutes early in the second frame, as he snared an eight-yard pass from Silva before scoring from four yards out midway through the quarter.  Green's one-yard plunge with 15 seconds remaining in the half gave the Rams a 42-0 lead at the break.

After having one blocked earlier in the game, junior Sean Wlasuk (Peabody, Mass.) drilled a 34-yard field goal with 2:43 to play in the third quarter closing out Framingham State's scoring for the afternoon.

Green rushed for 82 yards in the triumph for the Rams, who also received 93 receiving yards from Hayes.  Silva completed 15-of-26 pass attempts for Framingham State, which amassed 404 yards of total offense in running 82 plays in rainy conditions.

Freshmen Kenny Pierce (Peabody, Mass.) and Richie Phillips (Onset, Mass.) combined to rush for 62 yards in the setback for the host Buccaneers (2-6, 1-5 MASCAC), as senior quarterback John Trudel (Niantic, Conn.) was held to just 40 passing yards on the day.

Senior Kevin Donahue (Norfolk, Mass.) registered five tackles and a sack in helping the Rams record their second straight shutout, while fellow senior Matt Mangano (Winchester, Mass.) registered an interception for Framingham State, which notched its sixth straight triumph with the result.

Senior Kyle Hardy (Salem, Mass.) recorded a game-high 11 total tackles (nine solo) and a blocked field goal in the setback for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received eight solo stops from fellow senior Reynard Ortiz (Lowell, Mass.).

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Plymouth, N.H. next Saturday afternoon to take on Plymouth State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference outing that kicks off at noon, while Framingham State hosts Bridgewater State in a MASCAC match-up next Saturday afternoon in Framingham, Mass. that also kicks off at noon.
