Framingham, Mass. – Senior linebacker Pat McGrath (Everett, Mass.) and senior running back Melikke Van Alstyne have been selected to the 2013 New England Football Writers Division II/III All-New England Team.  McGrath and Van Alstyne are among seven honorees from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC).

McGrath, a first team All-MASCAC selection, led the Rams defense the surrendered just 16.6 points a game and allowed on average just 111 rush yards a contest.  McGrath racked up a team-high 103 total tackles including 57 solo stops and averaged 9.4 tackles per game with two forced fumbles and 3.5 tackles for a loss.

Van Alstyne earns his third All-New England honors after an outstanding senior season where he rushed for 1,620 yards on 308 carries with 19 touchdowns.  Van Alstyne, a first team All-MASCAC selection, finished his career with over 6,000 yards rushing, a feat only two other Division III New England backs have achieved, and 400 points.  His 6, 145 career rushing yards place him first on the All-Time Division III New England rushing leaders list and his 408 points land him fourth.

The 2013 Rams finished the season 9-2 and were the champions of the MASCAC in the inaugural season of MASCAC football. The Rams made their second straight appearance in the NCAA Division III Football Championship after earning an at-large bid.
