Van Alstyne Named MASCAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Framingham, Mass. – Framingham State University senior running back Melikke Van Alstyne (Salem, Mass.) has been selected the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) football Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending November 11th. Van Alstyne shares player of the week honors with Massachusetts Maritime Academy quarterback Mike Stanton.
Van Alstyne scored three touchdowns including the game-winner on a nine yard run with less than 30 seconds remaining in the game. He also converted the ensuing two point conversion as the Rams defeated Bridgewater State University 35-28 to secure the inaugural MASCAC Football Championship. Van Alstyne averaged 6.6 yards per carry as he rushed for 158 yards on 24 carries with a long of 50.
