Five Rams Named to NEFC All-Division Second Team

Framingham, MA - Framingham State College placed five players on the New England Football Conference (NEFC) All-Bogan Division Second Team in voting conducted by division's head coaches.  The Rams finished the 2008 season 5-5 overall and 3-4 in the division.  This season marked the first time the Rams reached the .500 mark since 1986.

Junior Dave Leach (Chelmsford, MA), who picked up two honors as second team running back and return specialist, was the first Ram in the 36 years of Framingham State football to rush for over 1,000 yards in a single season as he rushed for 1,034 yards and 11 touchdowns.  Leach, who averaged 21.4 yards per kick return, led the NEFC in all-purpose yards.

Senior quarterback Bruce Rich (Chelmsford, MA), who threw for 2,220 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, offensive tackle Steve DaSilva (Milford, MA) and sophomore wide receiver Jonathan Hayes (Framingham, MA), who had a team high 66 catches for 825 yards and 3 touchdowns, also received second team accolades. 

Sophomore cornerback Shawn Miller (Tyngsboro, MA), who had 43 tackles, 4 pass breakups and 2 interceptions, was the Rams lone honoree on the defensive side of the ball.
