Baseball Falls at Babson 10-1

Babson Park, Mass. - The Framingham State University baseball team returned to action today and were defeated 10-1 by Babson College this afternoon in non-conference action at Govoni Field. 

THE BASICS: 

- Scores: Babson 10, Framingham State 1 

- Records: Framingham State (3-8), Babson (7-4) 

- Location: Babson Park, Mass. - Govoni Field 

 

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • Babson got on the board first with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning. 

  • The Rams cut the deficit in half in the top of the second. Lucas Basile singled to lead off the inning and Steven Burbank followed with a base hit of his own. After Basile was picked off second, Joey Fasolino followed with an RBI triple to left center scoring Burbank. 

  • Babson added single runs in the bottom of the third and fourth pushing the advantage to 4-1. The Beavers added two more in the fifth and four in the sixth to reach the final margin. 

  • Scott Nosky took the loss on the mound for the Rams going four innings and allowing four runs, three earned, on four hits with three strikeouts. Jacob Gorman and Cameron Prescott combined to toss three innings of scoreless relief for the Rams. 

  • Tristen Spalter earned the win for the Beavers going five and two thirds allowing one earned run on three hits with six strikeouts. 

  • Josh Yellen, Michael Cook and Francis Kiely tallied two hits apiece for Babson in the game.

The Rams are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Wheaton College at 12 p.m.
