Buontempo Named MASCAC Baseball Rookie of the Week

Framingham, Mass. – Freshman outfielder Jacob Buontempo (Newburyport, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Rookie of the Week for the week ending March 20th. 

Buontempo earns his first MASCAC Weekly honors after going 5-for-6 (.833) with two doubles, six RBI, five runs scored, two walks and a stolen base with a 1.167 slugging percentage and an .875 on-base percentage in a doubleheader sweep of Westminster College. In the opening 8-2 victory over Westminster, Buontempo went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles, two runs scored and four RBI, while he closed the day 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI in the game two 14-7 victory.
