Emerson Swings Past Baseball 14-9 in Season Opener
Northboro, Mass. - The Framingham State University baseball team surrendered 14 runs to Emerson College as the Lions rallied for a 14-9 come from behind victory over the Rams in non-conference action this afternoon at the New England Baseball Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Rams grabbed the early lead with a run in the top of the first and three in the second. In the first, Robert Johnston recorded an RBI on a bases loaded scoring Stephen Burbank who had been hit by a pitch delivering a run for the Rams. Ryan Boyle chipped in with an RBI double in the top of the second.
- The Lions tallied four runs in the bottom of the third and three in the bottom of the fourth to take the 8-7 lead. Emerson tied the game in the bottom of the fourth on a two run single to left by Quinton Copeland and went ahead on an RBI ground out.
- The Rams tied the game in the top of fifth on an RBI double from Lucas Basile.
- Emerson took the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth with five runs including a two run Jake Hatch homer. Emerson also added an RBI doubles from Quinton Copeland and Calvin Jacey and a one-run single by Lou Davolio to take the 13-8 lead.
- Emerson added a single run in the seventh.
- The Rams closed the game with a homer from Joseph Fasolino in the top of the ninth for the 14-9 final margin.
- Johnston finished the game with a pair of hits and two RBI for the Rams, while Basile also recorded a pair of hits with a run scored and an RBI.

The Rams are back in action Thursday evening when they face off against Western New England College for a non-league game at 3:00 p.m.
