Baseball Selected Fourth in MASCAC Preseason Poll

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State baseball team has been predicted to finish fourth in the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Preseason poll as voted on by the coaches from around the league. 

The Rams received 28 points in the poll after posting a 10-17 record and 3-7 clip in a shortened league schedule in 2021.  

The Rams return reigning MASCAC Rookie of the Year Scott Nosky to lead the pitching staff this season. Nosky was tabbed Rookie of the Year after a solid first season on the mound for the Rams in 2021 Nosky, who was named both pitcher of the week and rookie of the week during the season, made eight appearances on the mound going 3-3 with two complete games He tossed a team-high 34.1 innings with 36 strikeouts and an ERA of 3.71. 

Westfield State earned six first place votes for 47 points to lead this year's poll. Last year's tournament champions Salem State were second with 38 points and the final two first place votes.  

2021 MASCAC Regular Season Champs Fitchburg State land in third with 37 points. Framingham State and Worcester State share the fourth spot with a 28-point tie. Also tying for a place in the poll are Bridgewater State and Massachusetts Maritime in sixth with 19 points. Closing out the 2022 preseason poll is MCLA in eighth with eight points. 

The Rams are slated to start their 2022 campaign on Tuesday, March 1st when they play Emerson at the New England Baseball Complex at 3pm.
