Connelly Named MASCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Year – Three Rams Named to All-MASCAC Teams

Framingham, Mass. – Sophomore Kevin Connelly (Bolton, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Pitcher of the Year as the Rams had three players recognized with selection to the All-MASCAC Teams as announced by the conference office this morning.

Connelly was the Rams lone first team selection, while senior designated hitter Ryan Wardwell (Hudson, Mass.) and sophomore catcher Jordan Pallazola (Rockport, Mass.) were named to the second team.

Connelly earns his first pitcher of the year nod and first All-MASCAC selection.  Connelly went a MASCAC-best 7-1 on the year with five complete games and three shutouts. Connelly made 12 appearances with nine starts and allowed just 18 earned runs in 69 innings of work.  Connelly recorded 63 strikeouts on the year and averaged just over eight strikeouts per nine innings with a 2.35 ERA.

Wardwell repeats as an All-MASCAC selection after leading the Rams with a .339 average including 10 doubles, a triple, two homeruns and 30 RBI.  Pallazola hit .265 on the year with 12 doubles, seven homeruns and 38 RBI.

The 2017 Rams finished the season 20-14 overall and advanced to the MASCAC Tournament championship game.
