Hartford, Conn. - Junior Christian Orsini (Livingston, N.J.) went 3-for-5 with two triples, three runs and an RBI to lead the Trinity College Baseball team to an 11-6 victory over the visiting Framingham State Rams on Tuesday night at Murren Family Field at DiBenedetto Stadium on Trinity's campus in Hartford.

The Bantams improve to 19-14 overall with the win, while the Rams fall to 16-22 on the year.

Framingham State Struck first in the top of the second inning when Kyle Pileski (Bristol, Conn.) drove a ball deep over the right field fence that also plated Jordan Pallazola (Rockport, Mass.) to open up a 2-0 lead for the Rams.

The Bantams strung together three-straight singles in the home half of the same inning to load the bases with no outs. After Framingham State starter Michael Raymond (Peabody, Mass.) induced a pop out for the first out of the inning, senior Nick DiBenedetto (Fort Myers, Fla.) came across on a fielder's choice off the bat of junior Cooper Mooney (Southbury, Conn.) to cut the deficit to one.

After a scoreless top of the third, Trinity tied the game at 2-2 thanks to a balk that brought home sophomore Johnny Stamatis (Ridgefield, Conn.).

In the top of the fourth, Framingham State tacked on another two runs when Pileski tallied his third RBI of the day, driving home Ryan Wardwell (Hudson, Mass.) on a double down the left field line. Pileski later came around to score on a Bantam throwing error to open up the 4-2 lead.

Mooney answered for Trinity with his second run-scoring fielder's choice of the evening in the bottom of the inning which plated junior Brendan Pierce (Hingham, Mass.) to make it a 4-3 ballgame after four.

After a Ram run in the top of the fifth, Orsini scored on a single to left off the bat of first-year Matt Koperniak (Adams, Mass.) to once again make it a one-run ballgame. Framingham State pitcher Al Wallach (Nahant, Mass.), who came on to spell Raymond, left the bases loaded to preserve the 5-4 lead heading into the sixth.

Trinity bounced back to take the lead in the bottom of the sixth with a six run inning, ignited by an RBI-triple down the right field line by Orsini that scored sophomore Ben Reinisch (Troy, N.Y.). Orsini crossed the plate on the following pitch on a fielder's choice by Koperniak before another run-scoring fielder's choice and a sacrifice fly by Pierce made it 9-5 Trinity. A run-scoring double by senior Jake Bennett (Norwell, Mass.) capped off the inning's scoring and put the hosts up five.

A single by Andrew Curtis (Dracut, Mass.) in the seventh got a run back for Framingham State but junior McLane Hill (Marlborough, Conn.) limited the damage to the lone run after coming on for classmate Nick Fusco (Orange, Conn.).

Orsini hit his second triple of the game to lead off the seventh before scoring on a double steal to reclaim a five-run lead.
