Connelly and Wardwell Earn MASCAC Baseball Weekly Honors

Framingham, Mass. – Sophomore Kevin Connelly (Bolton, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Pitcher of the Week and senior Ryan Wardwell (Hudson, Mass.) has been tabbed as the Baseball Player of the Week for the week ending April 9th.

Connelly earns his first pitcher of the week honor this season after going 2-0 with a pair of complete game shutout victories.  Connelly surrendered just five hits on the week while striking out 13.  He tossed seven innings and allowed just two hits with six strikeouts in a 1-0 victory over Fitchburg State. Connelly closed the week with a complete game, seven inning effort in a 10-0 victory over MCLA in which he surrendered just three hits with seven strikeouts.

Wardwell earns his first player of the week honor after batting .619 (13-for-21) with seven runs scored, six doubles, nine RBI, three walks and two stolen bases with a .905 slugging percentage.  Wardwell went 3-for-4 with a run scored, two doubles and three RBI in a 13-2 win over Fitchburg State and went 2-for-3 with a double and the game-winning RBI in a 1-0 game two victory over Fitchburg State.  Wardwell closed the week going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two doubles in a 12-10 loss to MCLA and went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI in a 10-0 win over MCLA.
