Baseball Shutout by Oswego in Game 1 at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational

Lake Myrtle, Fla. – The Framingham State University baseball team was held to just three hits as they were defeated 11-0 by Oswego State in game one of a non-conference doubleheader at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational.   

Sophomore Charles Arcuri recorded the victory on the hill for Oswego tossing five scoreless innings to earn his first victory of the season.  Arcuri allowed just one hit, a single to senior Matt Gerard (Milford, Mass.) in the bottom of the first, while striking out 10 and walking just one.  Andy Stuart threw the final two innings allowing just two hits with two strikeouts.

Junior Dillon Corliss (Winterport, ME) was tagged with the loss for the Rams in his first appearance of the season. Corliss went 3.1 innings allowing five runs, three earned, on six hits with four strikeouts and three walks. 

Senior Billy Derosier (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and junior R.J. Gray (Lowell, Mass.) each had single hits in the game for the Rams.

Game two of the twinbill is slated to begin at 9:15 p.m. this evening and the Rams are back in action tomorrow against William Patterson at the RussMatt Tournament with the first pitch slated for 3:30 p.m.
