Andrews Named to ABCA/Rawlings Division III New England All-Region First Team

Framingham, Mass. – Framingham State University freshman pitcher Mike Andrews (Stoneham, Mass.) has been named to the 2014 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III New England All-Region First Team.

Earlier this spring, Andrews was tabbed as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Co-Rookie of the year as well as a second team All-MASCAC selection in addition to being named to the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) Division III All-New England First Team.  Andrews had an outstanding rookie season going 7-1 in nine appearances with a new school single season record ERA of 1.25.  Andrews tossed five complete games and two shutouts in 64 and two thirds innings of work.  Opponents hit just .192 off Andrews who allowed just nine earned runs all season with 33 strikeouts and just 10 walks.
