Baseball to be Third Seed in MASCAC Championship Tournament

Framingham, Mass.  – After finishing with an 8-6 record in the MASCAC this season, the Framingham State University baseball team will be the third seed in this week's Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Championship Tournament.

The Rams will host sixth seed Bridgewater State University on Thursday, May 1st at Framingham's Bowditch Field at 3 p.m.  The winner will advance to the double elimination portion of the tournament and will travel to second seed Salem State University on Friday.

The other first round match-up features fifth seed Fitchburg State University traveling to fourth seed Westfield State University on Thursday at 3 p.m. The winner of that game advances to face top seed Worcester State University on Friday.

The tournament will conclude over the weekend at top seed Worcester State with three games on Saturday and the championship round of the tournament on Sunday. The winner of the MASCAC Baseball Tournament will receive the conference's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division III Baseball Championships.
