Lynn, Mass. – The Framingham State University baseball team surrendered three runs in the eighth inning as they were defeated 7-4 this evening in non-conference action against Fisher College at Fraser Field.

With the loss, the Rams dip below .500 on the season at 7-8, while Fisher improves to 19-7 on the year.

Fisher staked themselves a 2-0 lead with single runs in the fourth and fifth, but the Rams came back with one in the sixth and three in the seventh to claim the lead.  Junior Mark Mainini (Hull, Mass.) singled to score Matt Gerard (Milford, Mass.) in the sixth.  Senior Matt Roberge (Lowell, Mass.) plated the first run in the seventh on an RBI fielder's choice.  Senior Billy Derosier (Shrewsbury, Mass.) followed with a sacrifice fly and junior Kevin Driscoll (Chelmsford, Mass.) pushed the final run across with an RBI single.

The Falcons countered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to knot the score at 4-4 before tacking on three in the eighth to secure the victory.

Junior Zack Kirby (Rochester, Mass.) started on the hill for the Rams going six innings allowing two earned runs on three hits with a pair of strikeouts and a walk.  Senior Matt DiCato (Winthrop, Mass.) was tagged with the loss going 1 1/3 innings in relief and allowing five runs, three earned, on four hits.  Sophomore Brendan McDonough (Chelmsford, Mass.) allowed just one hit in 2/3 of an inning of work.
