Baseball Falls to Fisher College in Shortened Game

Lynn, Mass. – The Framingham State University baseball team was defeated 3-0 this evening by Fisher College in a five inning game that was ended early due to weather at Fraser Field.

After the loss, the Rams are now 8-14 on the year, while Fisher improves to 23-12.

The Rams were held to just three hits in the game, while Fisher tallied three runs on six hits as both teams committed four errors in sloppy conditions.

Senior outfielder Will Crofton (Hopkinton, Mass.) led the Rams at the plate going 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles, while sophomore Matt Gerard (Milford, Mass.) chipped in the Rams other hit as he singled to lead off the game.

Fisher plated a pair of unearned runs in the first inning as they capitalized on two Framingham State errors.

Thomas Simas (Cambridge, Mass.) was tagged with the loss for the Rams as he went five innings allowing three runs, one earned, on six hits with four strikeouts.

The Rams return to action tomorrow afternoon at Coast Guard at 3:30 p.m.
